Juve complete Abbiati swoop Wednesday 17 August, 2005

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus have a new goalkeeper after Milan allowed Christian Abbiati to join their rivals on loan.

The 28-year-old has signed for the Turin giants on a one-year deal following injury to Gigi Buffon.

Abbiati will become the club’s first choice shot-stopper for at least the next three months, while Buffon recovers from shoulder surgery.

Juventus swooped for Abbiati just days after the international left Genoa following their demotion to Serie C.

He had previously agreed to join the port club on loan earlier this summer but moved back to Milan this week.

Abbiati has spent the last seven years at Milan but has endured a difficult last two seasons at the San Siro as Nelson Dida’s No 2.

we are not only 'helping' our rivals (or are we? whot if he plays bad ) but we also dont ask any money for his loan ... well done galliani ... you make us spend money for the crap service on acmilan.com but then you do such a thing ... not very wise to do ...

I think it just goes to show how little Milan rate Abbiati if they're prepared to toss him away to our age-old rivals. I do expect a nice gratuity from Juve in return however, although what shape it'll take is anyone's guess.

I hate to see Abbiati go to Juve... he'll be the sub there when Buffon comes back.

But, is not a bad move by Milan, IMO...if he does bad then juve will be fukked for a while. if he does well Abbiati's stock will rise, and Milan can sell him for greater value.

if he will be crap he will be subbed by chimenti ... one error and he's 3th goalie ... and we all know that he needs to become a regular to show something, without confidence he's worth very little ...

    cheers

i really don't understand this? yes its a nice offer from milan but damn who cares at the end only the scudetto count's and it will be hard enough to win that one without helping our rivals
