Serie A Serie A: Cagliari v AC Milan

    MATCH PREVIEW
    Serie A Week 9 - 29 Oct 2014 (19.45 UK)
    Cagliari - Milan
    Stadio Sant'Elia
    Milan
    Cagliari

A jubilant Cagliari side will be looking to take their inspired goalscoring form and cause some conflict against a defensively weak Milan.

Zdenek Zeman’s side managed to rake in their second win of the Serie A campaign when they stunned newcomers Empoli at the weekend with a 4-0 win.

It was the second time this season the Rossoblu had managed to put four past the opposition, as they continued to emulate the true spirit of Zeman’s attack-minded sides.

So far it is has been a success, as Cagliari have been managing to play a good brand of football all the while scoring 13 goals, the highest number out of any team sitting below eighth place.

They will certainly be looking to use this as an advantage when they come up against Milan at a packed Sant’Elia, as they continue to struggle to find any stability in their backline.

With only one clean sheet on the record books for Pippo Inzaghi’s side this term, and 11 goals conceded, the Rossoneri floundered at taking a win against Fiorentina on Sunday evening due to their porous backline.

They will need to be aware of the threat that Cagliari pose pushing forward, and will need the services of Alex and Cristian Zapata to be on their best form. At this rate, a victory could go to either team.

Keep An Eye On: Albin Ekdal (Cagliari) - The Swedish footballer is currently enjoying one of his best seasons to date, after having played crucial roles in the Sardi’s two wins this season. His three-goal haul against Inter proved to be decisive en-route to a 4-1 win, while his goal on the weekend against Empoli contributed to their 4-0 triumph. He will no doubt be out to cause trouble against a defensively frail Milan side.
