Doesn't always work that way. Smalling only started a handful of games for fulham and in 12 months he's playing in UCL matches, and also Adebayor who couldn't get a look in at Shitty and now had some great games for Real against Spurs and was the difference against Barca in the league match.

I'd prefer to say the Game is Afoot such is my love of Sherlock Holmes

I know it's doesn't always work that way, but it's not a good sign if you can't get a place in a squad like Sampdoria.

    Thibout Courtois (RC Genk, Goalkeeper)

All 4 are fantastic players, but De Bruyne and Courtois arent ready now as they are only 18. But the 2 from Standard could make an immidiate impact IMO.
there is offcourse also Romelu Lukaku, but IMO he isnt as good as the other 4 mentioned.
Remind me, Belgium is part of France right?

heheh, no it isnt its a Country on its own. teams like Anderlecht, Standard and Bruges are the top teams, who occasionally play champions league.
I know its hard to believe future worldclass players play in our small league, but I'm not affraid to also make a bet with someone. I say De Bruyne, Courtois and Witsel are worldclass players in 4/5 years Too bad I cant prove it right now.

Belgium could be a real contender at Euro 2012?

The players you mention, plus Eden Hazard, Vertonghen, Vermaellen, Fellaini.

Good side in the making there mate!

it's not hard to believe that belgium can deliver world class players! why not! if the netherlands can every year again and again, then why can't belgium? the league quality isn't that much different imo?

actually they should combine the should make that benelux liga! it would mean a complete change of european football

If you don't mind, can you elaborate a little more on Witsel.

We've been linked with him...all over the Italian websites. His price was listed as around 8-10m..

Belgium is fantastic for chocolates, waffles and fries. If we want to go shopping there then we must bring some goodies like these from there.
