The Avengers has crossed $1b in 19 days equalling the record set by Avatar. It is the first movie in history to have earned over $100m in its first two weekends. It's not good. It's ****ing awesome! I'm going next week to see it again. I never heard so much applause in any movie in the cinema and so many times!

(You really liked Wrath of the Titans more than this?)

I'm glad you finally went and watched it and are now a contributor to make The Avengers the third highest grossing film in the US (beating The Dark Knight) and Internationally (beating Harry Fodder). It has some way to go to beat Titanic but what a barnstorming run this movie has had. It won't beat Avatar. Avatar is too far ahead in the numbers.

I am looking forward to seeing Ridley Scott's Prometheus which is the prequel to Alien. I've read that the performances by Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are outstanding. After that I will go to see Madagascar III - Europe's Most Wanted. The Amazing Spider-Man will be a decent Spidey movie but I will go there for the popcorn (talking in literal sense here) most probably. Then it will Batman vs. Gotham's Reckoning. I think The Batman is going to destroy Bane after rising.

Total Recall will be a fun flick because it has Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel in it and is directed by Len Wiseman. I believe he directed the fourth installment of the fantastic Die Hard series. That comes in August.

I just watched the woman in black, it's very good, the best horror in ages, still not up to 1970's levels, but way better than shit like the ring and the grudge which are not scary

I got to see The Dark Knight Rises yesterday. What a movie! What an ending to arguably the best trilogy in cinema history. I know then when you mention trilogies then the first two trilogies that come to my mind are Star Wars Episode IV-VI and The Lord of the Rings.

This trilogy is just better. Nolan raised the intensity level in this to a new high. It was a very intense movie. Very serious. But I loved it. It was just fantastic. I think the critics who have given it negative reviews have done an injustice to this great movie. Rarely, if ever do you see a trilogy conclude so well and fantastically well.

I will go as far as saying that this trilogy is the only one where each movie got better than its predecessor. It was a proper climax to an epic saga. Yes, The Dark Knight Rises is better than the The Dark Knight. You will get a split opinion on this because people will point to Ledger's phenomenal performance in TDK. This movie was more than that. You will not find a stand-out performance by one but by a few. It's just how the concluding part should be.

I don't know if Nolan will want to come and direct a new trilogy but I know Warners is going to try their best to convince him to return in a few years. The entire focus is on Superman now and try to revive this franchise which is the most famous since we were kids.
Snyder better not mess this one up. I have high hopes in this one.

For me personally The Avengers edged TDKR ever so slightly ... by a hair. It was a great Summer to see two epic movies. Never seen that happen!

Total Recall (mostly crap movie but it has Beckinsale and Biel so I will see it) and The Bourne Legacy are coming soon. Then we have Skyfall with Bond returning. These three will be OK entertainment (not epic events). The Hobbit in Winter is the one to see. That could be something big.

Next year ... Iron-Man III (Summer), Superman (Summer, Nolan is the consultant of this trilogy), Thor II (Winter) and many more good ones coming up.
