The worst part is that even if we got rid of Carlo tonight, we have so many poor players it wouldn't make any difference....

More generally, Italian football looks pretty crap in light of this week:

Inter - dominant in serie A- completely outplayed by Man UTD
Roma lost first leg and dominated by Arsenal
Milan, Samp and Fiorentina all knocked out of UEFA.

We are second-rate team in a second-rate league...

ps only 23,000 at tonight's game...

you should be an idiot to get a season ticket! if we are inferior in a fight, i'll keep supporting wether we win or not! but this has become a SHAME!!!!!!

if the management doesnt listen to the fans, the fans stay home! as simple as that!

ps: since the fossa has been gone, nothing is the same anymore!

    cheers

Why should the coach and certain players give a shit?

Bombarded by criticism, they know they wont be there next season - motivation suffers....

    Bremen wanted it more

Funny thing is that the way things are going, Milan will be playing in the 'we dont give a shit cup' as opposed to the Champions league again next season.

Only 1 game a week now - hopefully it will assist the pensioners for the remainder of the season.

No use flogging a dead horse.............

Ancelotti leaving alone will not make a difference. It's the 11 odd dead weights that need to leave with him and completely close this ERA ... this chapter so that a new generation comes up and we are ready for the UCL in full force in the next 4 years. Even the top management starting from Berlusphony and Gaylliani needs to take a long hard look at themselves which I doubt they ever will ... after all WE RULE THE MARKET!!!!

This is a Scudetto winning side ... the best team in Serie A by far. That was August - September 2008. How things have changed or shall I say come true to what was exactly expected. A realistic view of things always popped many questions into the minds of level-headed fans. But there is a whole bunch that needs a strong reality check.

Removing Carlo is STEP 1 of many steps required to revive Milan and this is being realistic. Obviously, there will be an optimistic view by some thinking that removing Carlo will solve many problems and getting 3 players will solve it. It won't.

Milan is living in the past. We need a ball-busting approach and it has to start from the VERY TOP. The two morons at the top need to go. The coach needs to go. The excess baggage and their million dollar cheques need to go. This is the exact very reason why I said the other day that we need to really evaluate how many people from Milan's golden era that has finished do we need for next season. I kid you not ... I think a whole lot needs to go as they have won everything and they are barely arsed about what happens because no matter what ... they bloody well know that they will start when fit and that is dangerous!!!

The really shocking thing is that we blew away a 2 goal lead when Bremen was firmly on the back foot.

All we need is a Nerazzurri shirt to complete the picture of what we have become! We can fix these problems in 4 years if we continue on this stupid path. Yes, I said 4 fucking years!!! A competitive Milan in the UCL seems to be far far away. Heck, we need to start worrying about making the UCL now .... in a way it is good because we may well get clobbered in that competition which is not good for our image!

There's a good chance of us getting the treble of the FUCK ALL trophy. We've already got 1 for sure, the other one (Serie A) is in the bag and the Coppa Italia is the icing on the tasteless cake!

Berlusphony, Gaylliani and Porky ---- OUT!!!
    Excess Baggage --- OUT!!!

We have to be ruthless in this regard. Seriously, if we are not ruthless in this .... we stand nowhere. This mess will just continue. When there is a problem, you cut it from the ROOTS, not from the fucking stem which is what we are doing. RIP OUT THE ROOTS.

Italian football is not that crap in general in Europe. The big problem is that I strongly believe that Milan is the FLAG-BEARER for Serie A in Europe so when we suck the problem looks bigger. The week was overall sucky for Serie A but in the second leg things will be different because two of the Serie A sides will be at HOME and one will be away from home with a sort of a favourable result in their favour as 0-0 first legs make for a very dangerous second leg. Plus, don't forget the curse of hosting the UCL final in Italia. When the final was last in Italia Bayern won it with no Italians in the Semis. When it was in Manchester, no English sides made the semis. When it was in Barcelona in 1999 no Spanish sides were in the Semis. When it was in Paris none of the froggy teams were in the Semis. I do feel that it will be a mountain climb for any Italian club to reach the semis because of this curse.

EPL is by far the best league right now just like Serie A was the best league in the early 90's and just like La Liga was the best league in the early 2000s. It's a cycle and EPL is having a strong run just like they had a very strong run from the late 70s to mid 80s.

Serie A will be much more stronger next season when Juve has had a run in the UCL after Serie B, Inter has had one complete season under Mourinho and Roma has done some chopping and changing in the Summer. No worries in this regard.

This was based on the fact that the other contenders would be drained by the CL.

Honestly, we simply dont have the squad. We will have to fight for a CL berth! The Scudetto is simply out of our grasp, we simply didnt reinforce enough, and underestimated our rivals.

My point exactly!!! The only difference is that I had my doubts BEFORE the season started but over here on DM quite a few posters failed to realize or acknowledge this at the time in September thinking that we had a great side in the making already. That's the sad bit.

Winning the Scudo this season was always going to be something extraordinary because a team that can't even finish in the top 4 in the previous season won't go all out and win the Scudo the very next season just like that. Maybe Juve can do it because they are by far the LEGENDARY SERIE A SIDE IN THIS LEAGUE but not Milan or Inter because these teams don't have the Serie A bug like Juve.

As for the reinforcing bit .... well the acquisitions were made for the wrong reasons ... i.e. MARKETING and MEDIA HYPE. Not for football. And as far as the underestimating bit goes .... it's not only the Milan management and players that under-estimated our rivals ... I am VERY SORRY to say that a legion of fans did the same.

This is yet another EYE-OPENER for everybody to see how much fixing is required. I still strongly believe that my previous post on getting rid of the 11 and that follow-up post to your questions is right. We simply can't live in the past and keep hold of a whole bunch of players who have won everything. You can't motivate such a lot. History shows us that. The lot was great for us for over half a decade. It's over now. Let go off them instead of this stupid Milan is a big happy family bullshit.

Milan let go off Gullit for Savicevic and Massaro and won a UCL. We let go off Ancelotti and went for Rijkaard .... all this happened DURING A SUCCESSFUL ERA. The recharging is done in such a way. Liverpool did the same in the 70's ... Shankly, Paisley, Keegan etc. It has happened in the past. Real did it ... Heynckes (always get the damn spelling wrong ], Del Bosque, Redondo, Makelele, Zizou, Predog Mijatobitch, Figo etc. .... changes made DURING AN ERA not AFTER IT to sustain the 7-8 year stint.

Right now we have the same bunch that we started off with in 2003. Yes, a few changes will be there next season with Silva coming in at the back, Pato is there in the front and maybe some more guys come in but the core is the same. Next season it will change further as Maldini will finally leave, Seedorf will probably go as well ... I really think that more is required. Clean sweep the lot otherwise we will still be in this quicksand but in a different place.

It's the bigger picture. I saw it after Calciopoli, a few others saw it afterwards but a whole bunch is still not seeing it. We really have to get to the point of ridiculous like Real under Perez for there to be a true revolt. Bloody fireworks for Ronaldinho!!! This is just one hoopla in many hooplas that we are seeing in recent years. Pathetic.

Clear the garbage from the top and the top is not Porky. Two steps higher.

Players I would like to keep in the squad (even if not first team):

    Kaka
    Pato
    Tiago Silva
    Pirlo
    Zambrotta
    Abbiati
    Gattuso
Nesta (we don't dump injured players..)
    Ronaldinho
    Beckham
    Borriello
    Bonera
    Jank

Plus bring back Gourcuff and Polaschi.

    Any others?!

We need a new coach and 2-3 quality defenders. I dont care about the attack - dont buy anymore attackers!!!!!!
