    Be careful for what you wish for.

    Let's end this thread and let Mau do the job when he sees it.

    I'd only advocate his signing if he's being brought in to replace Simic as a reserve RB/CB option. If, on the other hand, he's been designated as Stam's replacement, then it's a farce. Symoblic of the recent mentality toward the market one could argue.

    Overrated since the stone age. Bonera could, and should, only be a reserve.

    Out of the blue for most...Walter announced this a few days ago in the italian forum.

    On Bonera->
    Nice buy: hes still young, Italian, if I recall correctly Milanista and he can play both as a RB or a CD. He was tauted the next Maldini, Cannavaro or Nesta about 4 or 5 years ago; time has come to establish himself.

    beside i think Bonera was overrated in the past, i think he's the potential new Cannavaro (YES!) now he's in a bigger club than Parma, he can play with Champions, and IF WE manage him the right way, we can have a new powerful defender (he's not actually, of course)

    but imho good signing (considering we have Nesta, Kaladze etc etc)

    He is an ok transfer to fill in for Kaladze as he gets injured frequently for the right back slot and also a back up for the right back spot but not a starter for now.

    Kaladze is set with Nesta and hopefully the new RB will be a starter. I think we have signed all our back-ups for the Summer now.

    Now our campaign should be to relieve players and sign the new starters.

    Exactly. We have Nesta, Kala and Maldini for one more year, and now we add a solid italian CB. That's not bad IMO.

    Much better addition than over the hill-players like Favalli.

    But maybe people expect us to have 22 big shots in the squad? That is fantacalcio IMO
