AC Milan president Berlusconi backs Gourcuff
    tribalfooball.com - June 25, 2006

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has declared new signing Yoann Gourcuff is good enough to be a regular next season.
The France U21 international signed for Milan last week from Rennes and Berlusconi said: "Gourcuff is a boy prodigy.

"I have an idea for next season: he could play behind the forwards with Kaka, taking advantage of their individual qualities."

It seems that he will stay with us. That's good.

    Desireing a silver light,
Leaving with dusk in her eyes,

If Berlusca indeed said that, it for sure means that Gourcuff will be a regular next season, I just wonder how our midfield will look next year.

I am sure that they won“t drop Pirlo, and we DO need to have a DM so will Seedorf be dropped or how else could Gourcuff be included in the line-up

Gourcuff could be included if Milan decide to change formation, something Ancelotti denied earlier this year when he said that Milan will stick with four defenders and two strikers. However, things have changed since Shevchenko's departure and the lack of real replacement could mean a change in the formation. Though I doubt it.

Berlusconi has also stated that Milan will always play with two players upfront, but a couple of months ago he did actually leave a door open for a lone striker when he said that it isn't how many strikers that is on the pitch that matters, but the approach to the game.

    For instance,
    Pirlo-DMC-Seedorf
    Kakį Gourcuff
    Gilardino

And Foggia as a superb player on the bench. Seedorf could also play there as well.
