If Sheva and Inzaghi not fit, I'd still opt for the christmas tree formation, but more wise would be to rest some of the players as there's the match on Wednesday against ManU.
(4-3-1-2):
Stam - Nesta - Maldini - Pancaro
Brocchi - Ambrosini - Dhorasoo
Rui
JDT - Crespo
(4-3-2-1)
Stam - Nesta - Maldini - Pancaro
Brocchi - Ambrosini - Seedorf
Rui - Dhorasoo
JDT
What do you think?

Hmmm...
JDT?? U sure u know what ur talking about? He's been terrible or infact, awful lately - I wonder what the problem is. I'd rather we put in the guys who will deliver the goods then we can bring him in later - why not Crespo? He's been playing a lot true but then not been so busy on the pitch either...

28th February 2005, 21:02
I never thought I'd pass up the opportunity of 'resting' Crespo, but I really dont think we can afford to. His confidence is high, he's playing reasonably well and the prospect of JDT playing (did he retire and fail to tell anyone  ) is a tad disturbing IMO, so Crespo, for me, is a must.
If Stam's fit, which I'm not too confident about as he always seems to be struggling with something, I'd have him and Billy operating as full-backs. Pancaro's recent form barely merits inclusion on the bench.
Leffe
28th February 2005, 21:05
I would prefer Billy over Stam if Jaap's not 100% fit for saturday's game ;)
Let's hope Totti and Montella feel like kicking Juve :D so we can finally be leaders on our own :) and stay that way :)

Look at Atalantas last games...Atalanta - Siena 1-1, Lecce - Atalanta 1-0, Atalanta - Juventus 1-2, Inter - Atalanta 1-0, Atalanta - Livorno 1-0, Lazio - Atalanta 2-1, Atalanta - Bologna 2-0, Cagliari - Atalanta 3-3. These were all very close games. I really can't remember any other game where they lost convincingly (except for the 3-0 loss on San Siro with our champions). We really have to be carefull. I would give Tomasson a chance. I know he's been playing crap recently but maybe he likes scoring against atalanta. I also think some players should be given a rest. This is a very good chance to let in my favourite - vikash. My proposed lineup (supposed all of them will be ready for the game):
Dida (I dont trust abbiati... keep him for the cup matches)
Kaladze, Billy, Nesta, Maldini
Gattuso, Vikash, Sergio
Rui Costa, Kaka
Tomasson

How about starting with Crespo then subbing him after an hour? that way Crespo plays and so does JDT. I reckon Vikash deserves a start, what does he have to do to get a game?

Stam should be back for this game for Milan...good news since Cafu is suspended. Don't know if KK is going to be ready for this game, it's propable that Pancaro will start.
Up front I guees we have to keep going with Crespo.

Atalanta 3 wins 9 drew 14 losses from 26 games and they have 18 points they sux this is a sure 3 points we must stop our stupid 0-0 drew in away games I was really happy when Kaka scored against Inter long time our Mid's didn’t scored, anyway where another level from this Atalanta, IMO we play against them in our 2nd team and rest Dida, Maldini, Prilo, Rino and Crespo we have sub's for every one of them so when will they play + we have a hard game against Man IMO our starts need to rest before the big game
and btw there coming from 2 home wins against Livorno 1-0 and Bologna 2-0

Milan face snow threat
Milan’s game at Atalanta on Saturday could be postponed after heavy snowfall in the north of Italy.
The clash at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia should kick off at 18.00 hours local time but there are serious doubts over whether it will go ahead.
Should the bad weather continue over the next 24 hours then the Week 27 match could be called-off.
There are also concerns regarding Sampdoria’s tie against Chievo, to be played on Sunday, after the city of Genoa was also affected by the wintry conditions.
Snow has been falling on the city since last night and a pitch inspection has been scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

Inzaghi returns to face Atalanta Friday 4 March, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pippo Inzaghi has returned to the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Atalanta, while Kaka looks forward to a change of tactics.
The Italian international has barely set foot on the field for the last year with a series of injury setbacks, including two operations on his ankle and a recent bout of surgery for a fractured bone in his right hand.
He resumed full training this week and his presence at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia put Inzaghi in good stead for a place on the bench against Manchester United next week.
Marcos Cafu is suspended for this match, while Manuel Rui Costa has not made the trip to Bergamo due to a flu virus, so Carlo Ancelotti could return to the 4-3-1-2 system with Kaka supporting Hernan Crespo and Jon Dahl Tomasson.
“I am ready,” noted Kaka. “We all know it’ll be a tough game against Atalanta, especially with such appalling weather, but I am now getting used to the Winter climate in Europe.”
The Brazilian will brave the rain and snow to take the field on Saturday evening in this creative position behind the front two, though there are also reports that Crespo will be rested ahead of the Champions’ League fixture.
“It will be up to the Coach to decide,” he added. “We know plenty of supporters will make the trip and we want to make them happy with a victory. Then we can all sit down in front of the television and cheer on Roma against Juventus!”
Jaap Stam also returns from a muscular injury to shore up the defence in Cafu’s absence, while we could see a few midfield changes.
Milan squad: Abbiati, Dida, Fiori; Costacurta, Maldini, Nesta, Pancaro, Simic, Stam; Ambrosini, Brocchi, Dhorasoo, Gattuso, Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Serginho; Crespo, Inzaghi, Tomasson.

Any of u watching the match? Why do we always struggle against these small teams?? How's the game going? are they doing the usual en masse defense or what?
First half is ending and the online score still says 0-0...this is painful - I hear Crespo's missed a couple of good balls...argh...it will be so nice for us to start winnin games in the first half - why keep our hearts in the mouth and then bring the last minute strikes??

I think we deserve a little more credit than we're getting. Ok we've left it late in quite a few of our recent matches, but great teams play right to the final whistle. You also have to credit our level of fitness, when after playing 90mins of football we're still able to get the win ;)
I would prefer us to be winning games 4-0 or 5-0, but Serie A is stronger than the Dutch or Scotish leagues where there are plenty of those type of scorelines every week. We've left it late again but we've won tonight and we sit proudly at the top of the Serie A-it's now Juve's turn to see if they are good enough to keep up with us ;)

Well... so they're back on top with us eh? Now we are ahead on goals scored bcos we have the same goal difference... we really have to improve our goal scoring. Hernan and JDT have been quite a disappointment lately...they should be PUMPING in the goals - many strikers do taht without the kind of world class service they are gettin from Pirlo n Kaka(?) well u know whwat I mean.... wehave to STOP living dangerously folks, we gotta stop it and the earlier we do, the better for us.
Forza Milan!

If we could get penalties like them then we would'nt have to rely on 90th minute strikes :p
well i think that sums it up pretty well ... we at least fight all game to win ... they get the wins in an easy way ...
I dont think we should make too much adoo bout those late finishers ... important is that we won and that the team showed character ... remember, if you have seen the pitch today it was an old iraqie training camp :D ... in other words ... when kaka made a run the ball stuttered up and down ... it was, like i predicted a ... livorno-milan game ... but we won this time ... i think we learned from the loss in livorno ... so in the end ... we are still first ...
cheers

I'm very happy with this great result, I exploded after Pirlo scored the winner in 94th minute, I was going insane :):D
Very unhappy about Juve what a disgrace the fault was outside the box and the pass before that was offside !!!! UNBELIEVABLE !! How do they keep doing that
It's correct what Simon says both ref and lines-man are picking up their new Ferrari soon wrapped with a big thank you from Moggi

When Moggi meets up with Racalbuto...maybe he should tell him to be a little more subtle next time. :o

thanks a lot, grymmannen!!!!!!!!!!
to yasser and bayman,
pirlo shines not only in ManUtd game, but also against these minnows, and he even score the winner yesterday. So please drop your bias against Andrea and support the great pirlo from now on! Every player has their high and low form, as a rossoneri we should be more patient about our players, unlike those interista...

a great great victory important three points . i wont say we were lucky as milan won the game compared the olimpico clash where that bastard Raccabulto scored the winner for juventus. from our point of view , we didnt play that perfect , something very normal before manu clash , but nice to see that pippo is back with scoring chance and our def mids score both.
so last but not least , **** off Raccabulto and Juve , Forza Intermerda in Torino.

Dellas on Channel4.com :
It was all too clear that Referee Salvatore Racalbuto was favouring Juventus,” added the Euro 2004 winner. “The penalty was definitely outside the area, and Zalayeta also admitted as much to me afterwards.”
Seeing as Milan had won at the 94th minute against Atalanta, it was obvious that Juventus also had to get the three points and it was the referee’s mission to ensure that happened."

Bravo ragazzi! Bravo Ancelotti!
I present my condolences to jallo-rossi. Racalbuto killed Roma...
One of the main remembering moments was - Totti's look at Montella, after his following miss...

God Damn...i hate bloody Rubentus more than Inter. They talked abt Coliina retirement few days back. FIGC should think twice some quality referres, wish Collina could have assit the match. The first was ann offisde & the second was a disgrace. Let Milan spank them at San Siro....May God bless us.....FORZA MILANNNNNNN

I would just like to say
There are no small games in football. Sure there are small teams and big teams, yet when the players step out on the field....all the games are equal (worth 3 points or qualification to next round etc)
therefore in this sense, it is idiotic to say that pirlo is not a big game player - when teh chips have been down this season he ahs come up trumps and given us the vital results - like shevchenko always does and like crespo has done :)
3 games, 3 goals 3 winning goals 9 points
1-0 cagliari
2-1 Parma
2-1 Atalanta
these games werent the "biggest games" to play in, yet because of the situation changing in all three (where they could have been three draws therefore 6 points lost) they became the biggest game at the time...and pirlo delivered :)
i hope he and all the otehrs continue in this vein :)
