Juve w/o Nedved, Trez and Buffon and we had a full squad.
Looks like we have another slow start to season like last year. While we can make up for that in the second half in Serie A I pray we don't get kicked out in CL with that kind of perfpormances.
We desperately need another quality midfielder (Snijder) and above all a top class (World class!!) second striker.
No Montella or Wiltord or someother garbage....

Dude.
Last year we lost 0-2..
Friendlies means nothing. I don't care about losing all..
We need official matches to start. Where were your posts Vs Lazio saying we need this and that?
Then I doubt Sneijder would do well enough for Milan. Please we aren't Ajax.. He needs to prove himself there first..

Come on, THIS Lazio team is a relegation battler. Remeber when Fiorentina lost their SuperCup match 0-3, next season they went down.
Sure friendlies don't mean much. Last season we lost too, but consequently had a VERY SLOW start to the season. Remeber all the narrow and uninspired 1-0 victories against Brugge and Ajax.
This years group is much tougher.
And imo Juve isn't even a European top team. Once they meet a decent Spanish team they'll get shred to pieces. Same goes for Roma.
Only Inter and Milan are competitive in Europe.

Then don't tell me you think Bayern is a European team?
Losing 0-4 to your rival doesn't make you a good team at all..
Anyway, no team can give the same form for all the year.. Teams either starts strong and drops (Like Real last year) or starts slow and gears up like Milan last year.
And I think we done way better than the team who started like a Ferrari!
2 years ago when we had a tough group we done great.. We give each oppenent the effort that's needed, with Real we'll beat them 3-1 and Lecce 1-0.. Depends!

Chill out, this is only the Berlusconi trophy. We lost 2-0 last year and won Lo Scudetto;)
What would you rather win?

European top teams are: Milan, Inter, Barca, real Madrid, valencia, Deportivo, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Former rulers ManU, bayern, Juve are in a downward spiral with only Bayern having a chance to turn things around (they currently have endless cash reserves).
And I'm fully convinced you can do fine for all season like Juve in 2002/2003 (losing one CL final on penalties doesn't make them a dropping team in the late stages). Chelsea also kept quite a high level last season throuout the season. No top level, becasue a ranieri coached team never reaches top level.
All you need is rotation & easy, simple and effective football.

Valencia, mind you.. Are coached by Ranieri.. :)
Depor will never be a top team, their cycle is over, Arsenal? Comeon, Chelsea have better chances in Europe..
Juve > Arsenal in Europe.. 3 signings and Juve's spirit can give them many things..
If you depend on 32 yo's Zidane and Figo, plus a sissy kid in your team and your bomber gets injured in April.. You won't win..
For me, AC Milan followed by Barca and Inter are the top 3 sides now. Juve and Bayern can be fine too, Real semi's at best same goes for Arsenal.. Mourinho dunno.. 1-0's won't last forever, you were complaining about our wins last year and inserted Chelsea as favorites and they scored 6 in 4 games vs sh1t teams.. Don't you smell a contraduction? ;)

Yasser and Bayman are both correct IMO. :)
Bayman's concern is correct about our team needing to lift itself up a bit to start getting into a groove. Bayman I know our defence is arguably the world's strongest but I wouldn't mind a goal or two conceded and there is a reason behind it. If our team builds up a reputation of an impenetrable defence then that relaxes our midfield and offence and they can POSSIBLY relax. It is a similar situation to La Coruna when we visited them that we thrashed them 0-4 and 4-1 so it would be a cake walk again and it hit us hard!
Yasser is also correct that this is the pre-season and this is the correct time for experimentation and learning from the mistakes.
Our pre-season hasn't been bad so to speak as we had a good tour of the US. One improvement I would say is that our penalty kick taking ability improved. I am sure Carlo worked on that part and we did convert a lot of them so that shows that we have worked on it.
Tonight's game I didnot see but from the goal I saw it showed why Nesta and Stam are considered world class and others are not.
If you look closely ... Stam is not rushing on to the player knowing that he is at a zero angle and will eventually either cut it back or send it across goal.
Unfortunate that it went through his legs. Now Nesta is running towards the centre of the goal covering the other part for the cut back and at the same time positioning himself for the middle. This is all simple playbook stuff.
The ball went across and nobody was there at left back except Kala. If Maldini wasn't playing I would reckon that goal would not be scored.
That is what the difference is between great defenders and good ones. They always keep their head during a goalmouth situation like in today's game that prevents gifting goals.
Let's see how our season starts. I except a good first part of the season as the momentum will be there from last season. I am a tad bit worried about post-Winter break and see how that pans out.
Once again I want the UCL. That should be priority number 1 and it is indeed this season. Last season I didn't get the feeling that the squad or management wanted it that much and more focus was on the Scudetto. This season it seems to be different.
The European cup has to return with Rossonero bands around it.

Valencia, mind you.. Are coached by Ranieri..
But they have too much class players to fail. They'll be great even with Ranieri (though not as successfull as last season).
Depor will never be a top team, their cycle is over, Arsenal? Comeon, Chelsea have better chances in Europe..
Juve > Arsenal in Europe.. 3 signings and Juve's spirit can give them many things..
Arsenal, Chelsea and Depor are all miles ahead of Juve. Arsenal - Juve I'd expect another 4-1 drubbing like they once did to Juve themselves, Roma or Inter.
And Depor is definetely better. I'd even go so far to say that Spanisg 2nd tier teams like Atletico or Villareal are equal to Roma or Juventus.
If you depend on 32 yo's Zidane and Figo, plus a sissy kid in your team and your bomber gets injured in April.. You won't win

I know very well that Zidane and Figo are getting closer and closer to being ex players, but they still have a terrific team.
Certainly better than Barca, who have dozens of very good players, but apart from Ronaldinho and Puyol lack any standouts.
Chelsea: we did the same the year we won the CL....
