Coppa Italia second leg results

The second leg of the Coppa Italia group stage was played on Sunday evening. Napoli got back to winning ways with Roberto Stellone's brace, but Sampdoria got a shock from Serie C side Avellino.
Only the first team from each Group will go through to the second round and so far only Siena have qualified from Group C, eliminating Napoli in the first round. The third and final round of games on Wednesday August 29 will be crucial for all the groups.

Coppa Italia first round completed, Serie A sides eliminated

The Coppa Italia group stage was completed this evening with both Serie A sides already out of the competition in the first round. Venezia were eliminated by the 1-1 draw at Como, a team that has only just earned promotion into the second division, while Chievo fell foul of goal difference in a head-to-head finish with Ternana

The teams that topped their groups will go on to face the next eight squads in round two, to be played on September 19 and October 24. The draw will be made on Friday for Piacenza, Fiorentina, Udinese, Lecce, Verona, Perugia, Bologna and Torino.
