how did gila play? and how is Gourcuff doing?
Ian
9th August 2007, 22:37
Final score Milan 0-1 Betis.
A game we really should have won IMO, Gila had two clearcut chances one (which he scored) he was offside and really didn't need to be. The other was a free header that the keeper did well to save, but he really should have scored. IMO we need to start looking for another forward because it's just not working for Gila.
positives: Kaka and Nesta were outstanding, Betis coudn't handle Kaka running at them, perhaps if R99 was playing we could have won this.

Thanks for the updates Ian and for the summary.
I really don't know what is Gilardino's problem, Is it the pressure of playing in a Big club and the expectations of the fans?
Or he just can't fit in our style and rhythm of play?
I really hope he can find "IT" again, But I don't see it happening not with us anyway ....

Gila had 2 good chances in second half and they were saved by keeper, could have scored twice if not for Ricardo.
Kaladze, Nesta and Kaká were awsome (22 and 13 like always :p) Also I liked our midfield with Seedorf and Rino, nice combinations and passes :) Altough we lost the game I liked what I saw ;) We will be ready

It's a pity that none of the interested parties were dense enough to lodge an acceptable offer for him. I cringe at the thought of seeing his imitation striker cabaret act for yet another season.
Kudos to those who tuned in. Personally, I have little time for friendlies - they're like tedious foreplay, especially when the team's identical to that of last season.

Thing is Leffe IMO a decent forward should have scored at least one of those, after all chances at the highest level are usually at a premium. I bet R99 would have buried at least one chance last night.
Leffe

Correct R99 would have scored but he's R99 :D I'm not worried, I feel this season he will finally explode

Kaladze, Nesta and Kaká were awsome (22 and 13 like always :p).
I must say I couldn't disagree more about Kala. Kaladze was completley out of shape, his physical condition was pretty low and there were a bunch of players that seem ahead of him in terms of condition and form. At least it is something that can be improved before the season, but Kaladze had a night off IMHO.
As for Kaká, well, he wasn't completley out of shape but IMO not even close to awsome. He wasn't better than the average of the team. He will get better though, as it is with Kaladze, you can clearly see he isn't 100% fit yet. Those stinging actions with blistering runs weren't there.
Best of the night for me: Pirlo, Nesta and Jankulovski. Gilardino was really bad and surely he isn't fit after his surgery. However, those missed chances can't be blamed on anything. I fear yet another bad season from his side. And this is his last chance.

something else, i don't know if you guys have seen any of the spectaculair inter game last saterday :D
men i enjoyed watching that :D AZ simply beat the **** out of them, i admitt the first half they simply underrastemated AZ but the second half they fought hard for the ball, but still AZ was superior by time to time to them.
winning 4-2 from inter was spectaculair but to be honest i think AZ could have won with even 10-2 if they weren't *** sloppy with their goal opportunities

Sheva in a Milan shirt again!
Milan: Pato is here with Sheva, Ronaldo isn’t
04.09.2007, 09:00
Meanwhile Gilardino’s crisis continues, Pato has turned 18 and now can debut with Milan. The opportunity is on Thursday, when AC Milan will play a friendly match with Dynamo Kiev that, in order to celebrate its 100 years, will play with Shevchenko. However, the Brazilian cannot play in official competitions until January
Ronaldo won’t be joining the team in the Ukraine. Medical results showed problems that did not emerge in previous check-ups. The “Fenomeno” will remain at Milanello.

6th September 2007, 19:55
I agree Yasser, Gilardino could do well if the game suits him more. However, there has been huge flaws of his performances that can only be blamed on him. The bad finishing, the bad running, the bad targeting, the habit of always diving instead of doing a better option etc.
By the by, I would be very happy if someone could upload the highlights of this game. If it can be found.
Yasser
6th September 2007, 20:00
Gila is lacking confidence, I'm not his biggest fan but the way I see it:
1st year he scored around 20 goals in all competitions which is good but was blamed for never scoring in big games.
2nd year he scored arounf 15 goals and that included goals in big games like ManUtd, Inter, Roma, Fiorentina, a disallowed goal Vs Bayern..
He'll improve.. But he needs more support from the midfield Imo.. Which will come, surely he does some bad runs, passes and finishes.. But who doesn't?
In the meantime - PATO RULES :D

What I liked about Gila's goal is that he didn't go down after the first contact with the defender. He showed calmness under pressure and finished with a defender on his back. Way to go GILA!

Attenzione attenzione, Galliani e Ancelotti in disaccordo su Pato!

if i understand it correctly it's says something that ancelotti and galliani have different views on pato
galliani already compares him del piero and says he is the one to replace sheva's legacy. And ancelotti just wants to keep it realistic and says something that he will wait and see what he can do in the future for us.
But thats what i get out from it
